Okuma Easter Family Fishing Festival

NZSFC Youth Nationals
Looking for an exciting activity these school holidays? The NZSFC Youth Nationals 2026 are just around the corner! This nationwide tournament, designed for junior anglers, runs from April 4th to April 18th, 2026, coinciding with the April school holidays.
The tournament is a fantastic opportunity for kids under 18 to experience the thrill of fishing. With a structure similar to that of ‘The Nationals’, the event includes an all-tackle, measure-and-release format, and a points-based scoring system that encourages anglers to fish lighter line classes. Thanks to Daiwa NZ and Just Another Fisherman, there are some epic prizes up for grabs for the winning anglers!
Participation is easy—junior anglers can register at their nearest fishing club, and they don’t need to be a member. The tournament offers a wide variety of fishing sections catering to kids with handlines all the way up to those with access to boats. There’s even a photography section focusing on fun and the marine environment.

The Big TPSFC Coastal Cleanup

Rapala Labour Weekend Snapper Hunt
The Rapala Labour Weekend Snapper Hunt takes place on Saturday 25th October, 2025.
Registration and tournament briefing will take place from 4:00pm Friday 24th October at the clubrooms.
This tournament is an Interclub competition, meaning the biggest snapper caught on this day wins the Interclub trophy.
All entrants must attend the briefing.
Entry is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Juniors 16 years & under are $15.

Southern Bluefin Tuna Pre-Season Seminar Series
We’re proud to be hosting a Southern Bluefin Tuna Pre-Season Seminar right here at the Tairua Pauanui Sports Fishing Club – and we’d love to see you there.
This free event is part of a nationwide initiative by New Zealand Sport Fishing Council Inc and Coastguard New Zealand to help anglers prepare for the season ahead and, most importantly, make it home safe.
